  2.         Real3D v2.0 OpalVision Driver.

  5.               INSTALLATION
  6.  
  7. Copy the file 'Opal_r3d.library' included in this archive to
  8. your libs: directory.
  9.

  11.             USING THE DRIVER
  12.  
  13. This driver allows access to the OpalVision display via the
  14. 'External Screen' controls in Real3D's Project menu. To activate
  15. the driver:
  16.  
  17. 1) Select 'Project/External Screen/Settings'.
  18.    Type in 'Opal_r3d.library' in the library box.
  19.    (NOTE: This setting can be saved along with the
  20.     current environment).
  21.  
  22. 2) Select 'Project/External Screen/Open'.
  23.    (You will only need to do this once per session).
  24.  
  25. 3) Select 'View/Render/Settings' (or Amiga-s).
  26.    Click on the 'Output' cycle gadget (top-left) until
  27.    the text 'External' appears.
  28.    (NOTE: at this point the Width and Height fields will
  29.     be changed to the OpalVision display size. If you
  30.     change the Opal display resolutions, you may need
  31.     to repeat this again to refresh the Width and Height
  32.     fields).

  34. 4) To render the image in 24bit, select 'View/Render/Window'
  35.    (or amiga-r).
  36.  
  37.    Once the render has completed, the image will remain 
  38.    displayed until the left mouse button is pressed.

  40.    To abort the render, hit the 'Esc' key. The display will
  41.    also remain displayed until the left mouse button is 
  42.    pressed.

  45. 5) After the image has been rendered, it can then be saved
  46.    using 'Project/External Screen/Save' this will save the
  47.    image either using Real3D's file formats or the OpalVision
  48.    formats (see below).

  50. 6) If you wish to reclaim some memory, select
  51.    'Project/External Screen/Close' This will remove the last
  52.    24bit image from memory. (NOTE: if you wish to use the
  53.    OpalVision display again you'll have to repeat step 2).

  55. 7) Selecting 'Project/External Screen/Set Modes' will bring
  56.    up a requester which will allow the 24bit display resolution
  57.    to be selected. It also allows the OpalVision file format,
  58.    that can be used for saving 24bit images, to be selected.
  59.    The file formats will include the 3 standard Opal file
  60.    formats (IFF, Fast and JPEG) as well as any OpalVision LSI
  61.    (loader Saver Interface) modules installed into your system.

  63.    To save 24bit images using Real3D's file formats, select
  64.    'Project/External Screen/Settings'. From this menu you
  65.    can select the file formats to be used, if 'Custom' is
  66.    selected, then the OpalVision file format as selected
  67.    in the 'Set Modes' menu will be used.

  69. 8) To force make the 'Set Modes' menu appear on the current
  70.    screen, select 'Project/Window/Screen'. Tick the 'Public'
  71.    box and select the 'Default' gadget. The same text should
  72.    appear in the 'Current' and 'Default' fields.
